How to Pay Bills on KivoraPay

From selecting a category to receiving confirmation: a complete walkthrough of the bill payment flow.

Once you have a balance on KivoraPay, paying a bill takes less than a minute. Here is the full process from start to finish.

Step 1: Choose a bill category

From your dashboard, tap on the bill category you want to pay: Electricity, Airtime, Data, Cable TV, Betting, Travel, or Government. You can also tap "Pay Bills" to see all categories at once.

Step 2: Select your provider

Select your provider from the list. For data and cable, you will then select a specific plan or package. For electricity, select your distribution company (DisCo) and meter type (prepaid or postpaid).

Step 3: Enter your customer reference

Enter the account identifier for the service: your phone number for airtime and data, your meter number for electricity, your smartcard number for cable TV, or your account ID for betting. Tap Verify. KivoraPay will confirm the reference is valid and show you the account name before you proceed.

The verification step is mandatory. It ensures your payment reaches the right account and is not reversible once confirmed.

Step 4: Enter amount and pay

Enter the amount in naira. The minimum payment is ₦100. You will see the equivalent in USD at the current rate. Tap "Pay Now" to confirm.

Step 5: Confirmation

Your balance is debited immediately. If the payment is successful, you will receive a confirmation: including any tokens or units delivered (for example, an electricity meter token). If the payment fails for any reason, your balance is automatically refunded. You will not lose money to a technical failure.

Minimum payment amounts

The minimum payment across all bill categories is ₦100. Some categories have provider-set minimums (for example, certain cable packages have fixed prices). The app will display the applicable minimum before you confirm.
