Delete your KivoraPay account

You can ask KivoraPay B.V. to delete your KivoraPay account and the personal data linked to it at any time, from the app or the website. We complete deletion within 30 days.

Before you request deletion

  1. Withdraw any balance to your bank account. Money left in a deleted account has to be returned manually.
  2. Let any pending payments, withdrawals or orders finish.
  3. If you have a business account, cancel your merchant subscription.

How to request deletion

Option 1: request it here. Sign in and press the button below. Your request goes straight to our team.

You'll be asked to sign in first if you aren't already.

Option 2: email us. If you can't sign in, email privacy@kivorapay.com from the email address registered to your account, with the subject "Delete my KivoraPay account". We may ask you to confirm it's you before deleting anything.

What happens next

We confirm we've received your request within 14 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days. Once your account is deleted you can no longer sign in, and this cannot be undone.

What we delete

  • Your profile: name, email address, phone number, address and gender
  • Identity verification details you submitted (BVN and documents), except where the law requires us to keep them
  • Saved bank accounts, beneficiaries and payout details
  • Login data: trusted devices, sessions, two-factor settings and your transaction PIN
  • Notifications, preferences, saved items and support conversations
  • Merchant store details, products and team access, if you have a business account

What we keep, and for how long

  • Records of your transactions (payments, deposits, withdrawals and transfers) and the identity checks linked to them. Anti-money-laundering law requires us to keep these for 5 years after your account closes. They are then deleted.
  • Information needed to resolve an open dispute, chargeback or fraud investigation, only until it is resolved.
  • Transactions recorded on public blockchains. These are outside our control and cannot be erased by anyone.

Kept records are stored securely, used only for these legal purposes, and never for marketing. See our Privacy Policy for more.
